Saudi Business Visa for Indians: 2026 Quick Answer

Indian citizens apply for the Saudi business visit visa themselves, from their own account on KSA Visa (ksavisa.sa), the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs platform. The visa covers meetings, conferences and partnerships. It is not a work visa.

You do not need a Saudi company to apply. The form asks whether you have an invitation letter and lets you continue without one if you describe your own business. A separate route, the Business Visit Application, lets a company in Saudi Arabia request the visit for people in managerial positions it has commercial ties with.

Business Visit Visa vs Work Visa and Other Routes

KSA Visa describes the business visit visa as a visa for commercial and business-related visits: meetings, conferences or partnerships. According to the visa card and its FAQ, a business visitor can:

• Attend meetings and partnership discussions, plus conferences and events within the scope of business
• Visit family or friends and join events and tourist activities
• Travel between Saudi cities
• Perform Umrah

Hajj is not allowed on this visa. The visit also cannot be linked to a permanent employment contract inside the Kingdom.

When a work visa applies instead

Paid employment falls under separate categories: a Temporary Work Visa for short-term employment contracts and a Permanent Work Visa for long-term ones. If a Saudi employer is hiring you, the business visit visa is the wrong product, even for a short assignment.

Event Visit Visa

KSA Visa also has an Event Visit Visa, requested by the side in Saudi Arabia that wants a person to join or attend an event. If an organiser offers to arrange your visa, it is worth asking which route they use.

Tourist e-visa

Indians get the tourist e-visa only with a US, UK or Schengen visit visa, US, EU or UK permanent residence, or GCC residence; others are offered a Package Visa or embassy route. For e-visa holders, the Visit Saudi FAQ says the visa can cover short business trips such as meetings and workshops without a contract or paid work, while the Ministry of Tourism eVisa terms grant it solely for tourism or Umrah. Who Can Apply and Do You Need a Saudi Inviting Company

The business visit visa card on ksavisa.sa says the visa is granted to individuals of all nationalities, so Indian passport holders are eligible. Visitors need to be at least 18 years old. The visitor files the application, logging in to KSA Visa with an email address and password; the Nafath login option is meant for users based in Saudi Arabia.

With or without an invitation letter

The first requirement on the card is an invitation letter that proves your relationship with the inviting company and states the commercial purpose of the visit. The same card then says applicants without an invitation letter can still apply, as long as they give information about their business in the application.

The form opens with the question "Do you have an invitation letter?" and two answers:

• Yes: you enter the invitation number, and the platform verifies it against your passport number
• No: you choose to apply without an invitation and fill in your business details instead

A Saudi sponsor is therefore not a condition for the individual business visit visa. An invitation still helps: it is the first listed requirement and documents the reason for your trip.

When the Saudi company applies for you

The Business Visit Application on KSA Visa lets a company or institution in the Kingdom request a visit by people in managerial positions who have commercial ties with it. The MOFA visa platform describes it as a service for establishments to bring in people of commercial standing to meet their Saudi counterparts. We found no official confirmation that this route gives Indians a different entry type.

Documents Checklist for Indian Applicants

• A passport valid for at least 6 months
• A recent photo: 35x45 mm, plain background, head straight, neutral face with the mouth closed, no shadows; PNG or JPEG up to 5 MB
• An invitation letter from the inviting company, if you have one
• Details of your own business, if you apply without an invitation
• Medical insurance, bought inside the application from insurers approved in Saudi Arabia; it covers emergency cases only

What the business information step asks for

As checked on 14 October 2026, the form asks for your company name, headquarters, company phone and job title (from CEO or Company Owner to Company Representative or Other); website and business activity of interest are optional. These are form fields, not a published eligibility rule.

Invitation letter tips

According to the card FAQ, an invitation letter has no fixed validity period but should be relatively recent. We recommend a letter that states the purpose and dates of the visit and is dated close to your application.

The card does not list bank statements or attested company documents. In some cases, though, the embassy may ask the invited person to send their passport and invitation letter, so it helps to keep company papers ready.

As checked on 14 October 2026, the KSA Visa visa finder gives Indian citizens living in India two outcomes for a business trip.

Route A: e-visa by email

If you hold a valid US, UK or Schengen visa used to enter at least once, permanent residence in the US, UK or EU, or a GCC residence permit, the finder offers an electronic visa delivered by email.

Route B: online application plus passport submission

Without any of these, you apply online on KSA Visa and then submit your passport for review and processing:

• Step 1: prepare the documents above and the invitation number, if any
• Step 2: create an account on ksavisa.sa with your email and password and choose the Business visit visa
• Step 3: enter the invitation number for verification, or choose to apply without an invitation
• Step 4: fill in personal and business details; the card warns that errors slow down processing
• Step 5: choose medical insurance from the listed insurers and pay the fees online
• Step 6: submit your passport at an authorised office or a Saudi mission
• Step 7: follow the status with "Track your application" on the KSA Visa home page

Where to submit your passport in India

KSA Visa lists 11 authorised offices in 10 Indian cities: Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Delhi (Nehru Place), Lucknow, Calicut (two offices), Cochin, Kolkata and Mumbai, plus Saudi missions in New Delhi and Mumbai.

At the visa service centre

The 2024 KSA Visa user guide, written for an event visa, gives a general outline of the Tasheer visa service centre procedure: book an appointment, receive an appointment letter with the centre address and fees, submit documents, enrol biometrics (biographic data, fingerprints, facial image), then collect the passport or use optional courier delivery. A May 2023 alert from the law firm Fragomen also reported that Indian business visa applicants give biometrics in person at a Saudi visa centre.

Fees, Validity and Permitted Stay

The KSA Visa card shows one fee set for the business visit visa. As checked on 14 October 2026:

• Visa fee: $80, refundable
• Visa digital services fee: $10.5, non-refundable
• Insurance digital services fee: $10.5, non-refundable
• Medical insurance: price set by the insurance company

That makes $101 in platform charges before insurance. Service centre charges are extra; the 2024 KSA Visa user guide says they are stated in the appointment letter. KSA Visa shows no amount in rupees or riyals, so check the final figure on ksavisa.sa at the payment step.

Refund rules

According to the KSA Visa FAQ, a rejected application triggers an automatic refund request, processed within 45-60 business days. On the card, only the $80 visa fee is marked refundable. Once a visa is issued, its fees cannot be refunded and the visa cannot be cancelled.

Single or multiple entry

The card lists a single-entry visa (valid 90 days, 90-day stay) and a multiple-entry visa (valid one year, 90-day stay) with the same fee lines. As checked on 14 October 2026, the individual form offers Indian nationals only single entry, valid 90 days with a stay of up to 90 days, so there is no multiple-entry fee for Indian applicants to pay right now.

The 2024 KSA Visa user guide also notes that applicants holding a valid Saudi visa wait for it to expire before applying for a new one, which matters for back-to-back trips.

Extending your stay

According to a Jawazat statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency in October 2023, which covers visit visas in general rather than the business visa specifically, the host extends a single visit visa through Absher or Muqeem by paying a service fee, at least seven days before expiry. The visitor has to meet the medical insurance requirements, and the maximum extension period is 180 days. The fee amount was not published.

Processing Time and Application Status

The business visa card says processing usually takes one to two working days after the application (and invitation letter, if any) is submitted. The KSA Visa FAQ says it may take up to 3 working days, and longer in some exceptional cases.

That covers the platform only. On Route B, passport submission adds time, and no official figure for that step is published. We recommend applying well ahead of your meetings and holding off on non-refundable bookings until the visa is issued.

How to check your status

On the KSA Visa home page, choose "Track your application", enter the requested details and select "Inquiry". The tracker accepts the applicant's passport number, or the inviter's Saudi national ID, iqama ID or commercial registration number, and shows Approved, In Progress or Rejected. The final result is also sent by email.

Common Refusal Reasons and How to Avoid Them

KSA Visa publishes no refusal statistics or full list of refusal grounds, but its pages point to avoidable problems:

• Errors in the form: the card warns that inaccurate information or documents slow down processing
• Missing business details: the card asks applicants without an invitation to describe their business in the application
• An old invitation letter: no fixed validity, but the card asks for a relatively recent one
• A Saudi visa that is still valid: the 2024 user guide says to wait for it to expire before applying again
• Slow replies: the embassy may ask for your passport and invitation letter, or for extra details by email or an embassy visit
• A work purpose: employment in Saudi Arabia falls under the work visa categories

A rejection is not final. According to the card, a rejected applicant can reapply at any time, and the $80 visa fee is refunded.

Overstay penalties

In July 2026 the Ministry of Interior repeated that expatriates who overstay their visas face fines of up to SAR 50,000, imprisonment for up to six months and deportation.

Recent Changes (2025-2026)

Single entry for Indian applicants

In February 2025, media reported that Saudi Arabia had stopped issuing multiple-entry visit visas to 14 nationalities, India among them, and was issuing single-entry visas valid for 30 days with a stay of up to 30 days. According to those reports, neither the foreign ministry nor Jawazat issued an official statement.

As checked on 14 October 2026, the official form confirms single entry only for the same 14 nationalities: Algeria, Bangladesh, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sudan, Tunisia and Yemen. The validity and stay it shows are 90 days each, not 30.

Applications run on KSA Visa

Business visit applications are filed on the unified KSA Visa platform. The Saudi embassy in India publishes no business visa checklist: its e-services page links to KSA Visa; its old business visa pages redirect to the Saudi embassies portal.

Hajj season limits

From 18 April 2026 (1 Dhu al-Qi'dah 1447), holders of all visa types except Hajj visas could not enter or stay in Makkah during the Hajj season. Visit visa holders found there between 1 Dhu al-Qi'dah and 14 Dhu al-Hijjah face a fine of up to SAR 20,000, and whoever applied for their visa up to SAR 100,000 per person. The ministry added that infiltrators, including overstayers, are deported and banned from the Kingdom for 10 years.

Other updates

In December 2025, All India Radio reported a short-stay visa waiver between India and Saudi Arabia for diplomatic, special and official passports only; ordinary passports still need a visa. In September 2026 the GCC Secretary General said the unified Gulf tourist visa would launch soon, without a date, fee or process, so it was not available as of September 2026.
