Turkey Visa for UAE Residents 2026: e-Visa Eligibility, Sticker Visa and Requirements

Your UAE residence permit doesn't count for Turkey's e-Visa. See which Schengen, US, UK or Irish documents do, and how the Dubai sticker visa works.

Do UAE Residents Need a Visa for Turkey? (2026 Quick Answer)

Most do. A Turkey visa for UAE residents depends on your passport, not on where you live, so a UAE residence visa does not change the rules.

Emirati citizens are an exception. The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) exempts UAE ordinary and official passport holders from a visa for up to 90 days in any 180-day period.

As of September 2026, holders of ordinary Indian, Pakistani, Filipino, Egyptian, Bangladeshi, Nepalese and Sri Lankan passports need a visa and have two routes:

  • the e-Visa at evisa.gov.tr, which for most of them requires a valid visa or residence permit from a Schengen country, the USA, the UK or Ireland;
  • a sticker visa, applied for in the UAE through the authorised agency for the Turkish missions in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

With only a UAE residence visa, the sticker visa is usually the answer. Egyptians under 15 or over 45 can get the e-Visa without additional conditions.

Who Can Use the Turkey e-Visa - The Supporting Visa Rule

For the seven nationalities in this guide, the e-Visa is conditional: most applicants need a valid visa or residence permit from a Schengen country, the USA, the UK or Ireland. MFA entries for ordinary passports, as of September 2026:

  • India: single-entry e-Visa valid for one month, subject to certain conditions.
  • Pakistan: one-month single-entry e-Visa.
  • Philippines: 30-day single-entry e-Visa.
  • Egypt: ages 15 to 45 can get a 30-day single-entry e-Visa only if they also fly Turkish Airlines, AJet, Pegasus, EgyptAir or Air Cairo. Egyptians under 15 or over 45 can get an e-Visa without additional conditions.
  • Bangladesh and Nepal: single-entry e-Visa valid for one month, subject to certain conditions.
  • Sri Lanka: an e-Visa whose length the MFA entry does not state.

For Indian and Nepalese applicants, the Turkish Embassy in New Delhi lists exactly two kinds of supporting document from those countries: a valid visa or a valid residence permit. A visa counts whether used or unused, as long as it is valid on your entry date. The embassy's March 2024 guidance adds that other countries' e-Visas are not accepted.

A notice from the Turkish Consulate General in Los Angeles, dated 18 January 2025, adds the other criteria: proof of a return ticket, a hotel reservation and at least USD 50 per day; travel for tourism or business; and entry through an airport, as the e-Visa route does not apply at land borders.

Does UAE Residency Help?

Not for the e-Visa. The MFA page has 16 conditional e-Visa entries, including all seven nationalities above, and every one uses the same Schengen, US, UK and Ireland list. UAE and other GCC residence permits are never named; the UAE appears only in the row for UAE passport holders.

So a UAE residence visa on its own does not make these passport holders eligible. The MFA names no other countries either, so we would not count on a Canadian or Australian visa.

In practice, an Indian passport holder in Dubai with a valid UK visitor visa may qualify for the e-Visa, subject to the other conditions. The UK visa is what counts.

Where UAE residency matters is the sticker visa, which residents apply for in the UAE through the authorised agency for the Turkish missions in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

How to Apply for the e-Visa Step by Step

The only official e-Visa website is evisa.gov.tr. Turkish missions warn that other sites offering it are fake: they obtain the e-Visa from the official site and charge more than twice the official fee.

  • Purpose: the e-Visa covers tourism and commerce only. For work or study, visas come from a Turkish embassy or consulate.
  • Supporting document: your visa or residence permit needs to be valid on your entry date.
  • Fee and conditions: according to the Turkish Embassy in New Delhi's 2024 instructions (the portal's screens may have changed since), you click Apply, select your country and passport type, then Save and Continue to see the fee, and again to see the conditions.
  • Form: identity, passport and travel dates. The site does not verify the supporting document, so accurate details matter.
  • Payment: online, 24/7, from anywhere with internet access.

The New Delhi embassy notes that Turkish embassies and consulates cannot answer e-Visa queries.

When You Need a Sticker Visa from the Consulate in Dubai or Abu Dhabi

A sticker visa is the fallback when the e-Visa is not available, for example when:

  • you hold no valid Schengen, US, UK or Irish visa or residence permit;
  • you are an Egyptian aged 15 to 45 and cannot meet both the document and airline conditions;
  • the trip is for work, study or another purpose outside tourism and commerce;
  • you plan to enter by land, where the e-Visa route does not apply.

For Nepalese ordinary passports, the MFA says Turkish missions abroad issue 15-day visas.

Since 5 January 2016, every Turkish sticker-visa application starts in the online Pre-Application System. In the UAE, the Dubai consulate's pre-application link opens the e-Konsolosluk system, which as of September 2026 sends applicants for Dubai and Abu Dhabi to authorised agencies but names none.

According to the missions' May 2020 notice, the latest one found that names a provider, applications went in person to VFS Global centres in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Providers can change, so we recommend confirming the current authorised agency before applying.

We found no official UAE checklist, processing time or minimum residence-visa validity, and no guidance for visit-visa holders; the agency can confirm these. The MFA recommends applying at least one month ahead.

Fees, Validity and Length of Stay

We found no official published e-Visa fee for the passports in this guide; the portal shows it once you select nationality and passport type.

Sticker-visa fees at the Turkish Consulate General in Dubai for 2026, announced on 7 January 2026:

  • Single entry — AED 225
  • Multiple entry — AED 700
  • Single transit — AED 225
  • Double transit — AED 450

Fees are not refunded if the application is rejected. We found no official figure for the agency's own service charge, so it is worth asking first. Fees are as of September 2026; the consulate's website carries the latest notice.

Validity and length of stay

The MFA describes most of these e-Visas as single entry, valid for one month (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal) or 30 days (the Philippines, Egyptians aged 15 to 45). No official source we checked says how soon after issue the entry must be used.

Stays under any Turkish visa or visa exemption cannot exceed 90 days within 180 days, a rule the MFA applies to all foreigners.

Passports need at least 60 days of validity beyond the permitted stay, so 90 days on entry for a 30-day stay. The MFA also advises six months from arrival; we recommend six, as airlines and agencies may apply the stricter figure.

Arrival in Istanbul - What Border Officers Check

A visa is not a guarantee: the MFA states that Turkish visas do not give an absolute right of entry.

The e-Visa site does not check your supporting document; airlines and Turkish immigration do. If it falls short, airlines will refuse boarding, so problems can surface in the UAE.

Travellers need the original supporting document with them to show Turkish immigration, according to the New Delhi embassy. We also recommend carrying proof of a return ticket, hotel booking and at least USD 50 a day.

According to a January 2025 consular notice written for US-based travellers, Turkish immigration officers only recognise valid sticker US, Schengen or Irish visas or Green Cards. Since that notice also lists UK documents, we read this as a preference for physical ones.

UK digital eVisas: a grey area

UK government guidance says eVisas have replaced physical UK immigration documents; holders prove their status with a share code. We found no official Turkish position on accepting them.

According to one traveller's report on Reddit in September 2026, not an official rule, an Indian passport holder whose e-Visa relied on a UK digital eVisa was asked for the share code at Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen and cleared in about two minutes after showing a printout.

We would not rely on this. If a UK digital eVisa is your only supporting document, we suggest carrying a printed share code and your UKVI status page, or choosing a sticker visa.

Recent Changes (2025-2026)

  • 18 January 2025: the Turkish Consulate General in Los Angeles summed up the e-Visa criteria.
  • 7 January 2026: the Consulate General in Dubai announced its 2026 sticker-visa fees.
  • As of September 2026, the e-Konsolosluk system for Dubai and Abu Dhabi directs applicants to authorised agencies without naming one.

We found no 2025-2026 change to the conditional e-Visa rules for Indian, Pakistani, Filipino, Egyptian or Bangladeshi passports; the MFA list still names only Schengen states, the USA, the UK and Ireland.

FAQ

Can I get a Turkey e-Visa with a UAE residence visa?

Not on its own. For the Indian, Pakistani, Filipino, Egyptian, Bangladeshi, Nepalese and Sri Lankan passports covered here, the MFA accepts only Schengen, US, UK or Irish visas and residence permits as supporting documents.

Do UAE citizens need a visa for Turkey?

No. UAE ordinary and official passport holders are visa-exempt for up to 90 days in any 180-day period. The exemption follows the passport, so it does not extend to expats.

How much is the Turkey e-Visa for Indian or Pakistani passports?

We found no official published fee; evisa.gov.tr shows it once you select nationality and passport type. Turkish missions warn that fake sites charge more than twice the official fee.

How much does a Turkish sticker visa cost in Dubai?

As of September 2026, the Consulate General in Dubai lists AED 225 for single entry and AED 700 for multiple entry, non-refundable if the application is rejected.

Does my supporting US or Schengen visa have to be unused?

No. According to the Turkish Embassy in New Delhi, used and unused visas are accepted if they are valid on your entry date.

Can a UK digital eVisa be my supporting document?

It is a grey area with no official Turkish position we could find. According to one traveller's report on Reddit in September 2026, not an official rule, they were cleared at Sabiha Gökçen after showing a printed share code. We would not rely on it.

Do Egyptians need to fly with a specific airline?

Egyptians aged 15 to 45 using the e-Visa do: Turkish Airlines, AJet, Pegasus, EgyptAir or Air Cairo. Those under 15 or over 45 face no additional conditions.

Where do UAE residents apply for a Turkish sticker visa?

Through the authorised agency for the Turkish missions in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The official system named none in September 2026, so it is worth confirming the current agency first.

Can Visarun guarantee a Turkey visa?

No. Visarun is an agency: we help check which route fits your passport and prepare your documents. The e-Visa itself is issued only through evisa.gov.tr, and decisions belong to the Turkish authorities.
