Indonesia Visa FAQ for Filipino passport holders

Do Filipino citizens need a visa for Indonesia?
No, not for a stay of up to 30 days. Filipino citizens are on Indonesia's visa-free visit list (Bebas Visa Kunjungan, visa index A1), so there is no visa to apply for. At the immigration checkpoint you show a passport valid for at least 6 months and a return or onward ticket, and the officer gives you an entry permit for up to 30 days from arrival. Before the trip, complete the free All Indonesia arrival card, which every international arrival needs.
Is there a cost or waiting time for visa-free entry?
No. Visa-free entry to Indonesia costs nothing and needs no approval, so there is nothing to wait for. If you wish, you can get the electronic visa exemption (e-BVK) in advance through All Indonesia, the free arrival card every traveller completes from 3 days before arrival; its electronic entry mark can be used at immigration autogates. If you visit Bali, there is one regional charge: a levy of IDR 150,000 each time you enter Bali, settled at lovebali.baliprov.go.id or at Bali's airport and ports.
How long can Filipino citizens stay in Indonesia without a visa?
Up to 30 days, counted from the date of arrival. This visa-free stay cannot be extended and cannot be converted into another stay permit, so plan to leave Indonesia by day 30. If you need more time, enter on an e-VoA instead: it gives 30 days from arrival plus one 30-day extension, 60 days in total, and is applied for online at evisa.imigrasi.go.id before you travel.
What do I need to enter Indonesia visa-free?
A national passport valid for at least 6 months and a return ticket or an onward ticket to another country, both shown at the immigration checkpoint, plus the All Indonesia arrival card. Stateless persons and holders of temporary or emergency passports, titre de voyage, certificates of identity or laissez-passer cannot use visa-free entry. You may come for tourism, family visits, meetings, conventions, exhibitions or transit, but selling goods or services and earning wages from people or companies in Indonesia are not allowed.
Which passports can visit Indonesia visa-free?
The Directorate General of Immigration lists 19 visa-free entries: Brunei Darussalam, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Cambodia, Singapore, Myanmar, Laos, Timor-Leste, Suriname, Colombia, Hong Kong, Turkiye, Brazil, Peru, Kazakhstan, Macao and Belarus. Brazil and Turkiye were added from 3 July 2025, Peru from 12 August 2025, and Kazakhstan, Macao and Belarus from 9 July 2026 under Permenimipas 10/2026. Foreign holders of Singapore permanent residence can also enter visa-free through certain checkpoints. Other nationalities need a visa on arrival or a visa issued in advance.
