South Korea K-ETA FAQ for Brazilian passport holders

Do Brazilian citizens need a visa for South Korea?
No. Brazilian citizens can visit South Korea without a visa for up to 90 days per visit, but they must hold an approved K-ETA (Korea Electronic Travel Authorization) before boarding a flight or ship to Korea, including to Jeju. It covers tourism, visiting relatives, events, conferences and business, not paid work. Travellers aged 17 or under or 65 or over on the date of entry are exempt: they submit an arrival card instead, or may still apply for a K-ETA to skip it. A K-ETA is not a visa, and the immigration officer decides on entry.
How much does a K-ETA cost?
The official fee is KRW 10,000 per person, about USD 7 to 8, plus an online card processing fee of generally about 3%. It is not refunded, whatever the outcome of the application. The official application runs only on k-eta.go.kr and the official K-ETA app. Visarun files your application there; our service fee for checking and filing it is separate from the official fee and is shown in the pricing section before you pay.
How long does it take to get a K-ETA?
The K-ETA assessment typically takes 72 hours or less, but it can take longer when applications rise. Applications are reviewed in the order received and there is no expedited service, so applying through Visarun does not speed up the decision. The K-ETA Centre recommends applying 1 to 2 months before your expected entry date. You need the approval before you board: applying after boarding or once in Korea can lead to refusal or entry restrictions.
How long is a K-ETA valid, and how long can I stay?
A K-ETA is valid for 3 years from approval, or until your passport expires if that is sooner, and it can be used for multiple visits. It does not extend your stay: Brazilian citizens can stay up to 90 days on each visit. You need a new K-ETA if your passport is reissued or if your criminal record or infectious disease information changes. If travel details such as your dates or address in Korea change, update them on the K-ETA website.
What do I need to apply for a K-ETA?
You need a valid passport, a valid email address and a facial photo, plus your trip details: purpose of entry, address in Korea, contact details and expected arrival and departure dates. Details cannot be edited after submission, and if the K-ETA does not match your passport, boarding is refused, so every field must be right. False information leads to refusal or cancellation and possible entry bans. With an approved K-ETA you do not need to submit an arrival card on entry.
