Thailand Visa FAQ for Brazilian passport holders

Do Brazilian citizens need a visa for Thailand?
No, not for stays of up to 90 days. Brazilian citizens holding an ordinary passport can enter Thailand visa-free under a bilateral visa exemption agreement between the two countries. There is no visa application, but you must fill in the free Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) online before arrival. Conditions and permitted purposes follow the agreement, and working in Thailand always requires a visa and a work permit.
Is there a cost or waiting time for visa-free entry?
No. Visa-free entry under the agreement costs nothing and there is no application to process. The only online step is the TDAC, which is free on the official site tdac.immigration.go.th and is completed within 3 days before arrival. If your plans go beyond the agreement, for example work, apply for the matching visa online at thaievisa.go.th while you are outside Thailand.
How long can Brazilian citizens stay in Thailand without a visa?
Up to 90 days under the bilateral agreement. Conditions and permitted purposes follow the agreement itself, and working in Thailand always requires a visa and a work permit. If your plans go beyond the agreement, get the matching visa before you travel: all Thai visa applications are made online at thaievisa.go.th, the official e-Visa portal, from outside Thailand.
What do I need to enter Thailand visa-free?
Your ordinary passport; Thailand's foreign ministry advises at least 6 months of validity and a return ticket. Carry funds for your stay: Thai embassy guidance for visa-exempt tourists is 20,000 THB per person or 40,000 THB per family in cash or equivalent. Before arrival, complete the free Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) at tdac.immigration.go.th within 3 days before you arrive; it is mandatory for all foreign nationals.
Did the September 2026 changes affect Brazilian citizens?
Not the stay limit. On 15 September 2026 Thailand revoked its 60-day visa exemption scheme and moved to one visa exemption arrangement per country. The bilateral agreements were not changed, so Brazilian citizens keep up to 90 days under theirs. The Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC), mandatory for all foreign nationals since 1 May 2025, still applies to every arrival.
