Step-by-Step Armenia Visa Application Process

Step 1: Determine Your Visa Type

Identify the appropriate visa category based on your travel purpose—tourist visa for leisure and sightseeing (available via e-visa or at consulates), visitor visa for visiting friends or family, business visa for meetings and conferences, or transit visa for passing through Armenia en route to another destination. Review duration requirements and ensure your planned stay aligns with visa validity periods.

Step 2: Gather Required Documentation

Collect essential documents including:

  • Valid passport copy with minimum 6 months validity
  • Completed application form with accurate information
  • Recent passport-sized photograph meeting official specifications
  • Residence address and phone number, occupation details, and residence address in Armenia
  • Accommodation booking (preferable), flight tickets or reservation if available, and proof of funds if applicable
  • Other country visas or residence permits, if any

Step 3: Complete Application Forms

Fill out applications through Armenia's official e-Visa portal at evisa.mfa.am, a secure government portal run by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia. Provide all required details such as your name, nationality, email address, phone number, passport number, occupation, and arrival date—the information provided must match the details in your passport. For embassy applications, prepare paper forms for submission. Double-check all information for accuracy before submission.

Step 4: Submit Your Application

For e-visa: visit the official e-visa website, click on the 'apply e-visa' option, fill out the Armenia e-visa application form, and click register. Note down your application ID to track your visa application status. For embassy applications: schedule an appointment and submit materials in person at the designated Armenian diplomatic mission. For nationalities requiring an invitation, individuals must submit invitations to the Migration and Citizenship Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, issued on the organization's letterhead, signed and sealed.

Step 5: Pay Processing Fees

The e-visa fees are 7 USD for a 21-day visa and 34 USD for a 120-day visa. Payment can be made through the E-payments system using VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover card, or PayPal Account. For embassy applications, the consular fee is 5,000 AMD, which can be paid at any commercial bank or online. Retain payment receipts for tracking purposes.

Step 6: Track Application Progress

Monitor your application status through official tracking systems—the processing time for e-visas is normally 3 working days. Processing time should be calculated starting from the next business day after your application's online submission day. Processing for embassy applications typically takes 7-15 business days.

Step 7: Receive Your Visa

You will receive your e-visa via email at the same email address provided during the application—download, print a copy, and present it along with other necessary documents to the immigration officer at the port of entry. For embassy applications, collect approved visas from the embassy. Verify all details immediately and report any discrepancies before travel.

Important: Ensure document translations are certified and apostilled when required. Common mistakes include providing inaccurate information in the visa application—personal details provided must match the details present in the passport.
