Step 1: Complete Electronic Travel Authorization
All visitors to Seychelles must possess a valid Electronic Travel Authorization prior to departing from their country of origin. You may apply online up to 30 days before your flight. Complete your application through the Seychelles Electronic Border System at seychelles.govtas.com or download the Seychelles e-Border app. The fee is EUR 10 for standard processing, payable by credit or debit card, with express options at EUR 30 (about 6 hours) and EUR 70 (about 60 minutes). Standard processing time can take up to 24 hours. Since 1 December 2024, the same authorization is also required for arrivals by sea, including cruise ship and yacht passengers. Failure to complete this authorization may lead to a penalty fee upon arrival.
Step 2: Gather Required Documentation
Prepare essential documents for your Travel Authorization application and arrival:
- Valid passport with validity for the duration of your stay
- Airline booking confirmation clearly showing your arrival and departure dates
- Accommodation booking confirmation for each location of your stay in Seychelles, including hotel or guesthouse name, boat charter name, or name of employer; if visiting friends and family, provide a letter of invitation
- Proof of sufficient funds to cover the duration of the stay
- Valid return or onward ticket for the duration of the visit
Step 3: Upload Documents to Electronic System
Using the Seychelles Electronic Border System portal or app, upload digital copies of your passport information page, flight reservations, and accommodation confirmations. The system digitizes all border formalities and must be completed before entering Seychelles. Ensure all uploaded documents are clear and readable to avoid processing delays.
Step 4: Pay Required Fees
There is a fee associated with the Travel Authorization service; the standard application is EUR 10, and government fees plus a bank processing charge bring the total to EUR 12.06 as of January 2026. Payment must be made online via credit or debit card during the application process. This fee covers the electronic processing of your entry authorization. Keep your payment confirmation for reference.
Step 5: Receive Visitor's Permit on Arrival
A Visitor's Permit is issued upon arrival in Seychelles to individuals traveling for purposes such as holiday, pleasure, business, or visiting friends and family. Present your approved Travel Authorization and documentation to immigration officers at Seychelles International Airport. The Visitor's Permit is initially granted for a stay of up to three months. The initial Visitor's Permit is issued free of charge for the first three months. Processing at immigration counters typically takes 15-30 minutes.
Step 6: Extension Procedures
To extend your Visitor's Permit, you can submit your application through online application at www.permits.ics.gov.sc. Payments for the extension application must be made via card. Alternatively, visit the Immigration and Civil Status Office located at Independence House, Victoria, Mahé, to submit your application. For extensions beyond the initial three months, a fee of SCR 5,000 is required for each additional three-month period or part thereof (approximately USD 345). This permit can be extended for successive periods of up to three months each, to a maximum total duration of twelve months. Apply before your current permit expires and ensure you continue to meet all eligibility criteria including confirmed accommodation and sufficient funds.
