Namibia has recently updated its visa policies to facilitate easier access for international travelers. Effective from 1 April 2025, the country introduced a new Visa on Arrival (VOA) system, aiming to streamline entry procedures and promote tourism and investment. Since April 1, 2025, Namibia ended the visa exemption previously granted to 33 nationalities, including the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Canada, and Australia, citing the lack of reciprocal agreements. Namibian authorities strongly encourage the use of the e-Visa on arrival system, which allows travelers to submit their application online before their trip and save time at entry points. Countries with visa exemption agreements include Angola, Botswana, Brazil, Cuba, Eswatini, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Jamaica, Kenya, Lesotho, Macau, Malawi, Malaysia, Mauritius, Mozambique, Russian Federation, Seychelles, Singapore, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
The Visa on Arrival is by default valid for 30 days from your first entry into Namibia, although it may be possible to receive up to 90 days authorization from the immigration inspector upon arrival. The cost is 1,600 Namibian dollars (approximately USD 88) for travelers over 11 years old, 800 Namibian dollars for children between 6 to 11 years, and free for children under 6. Located in southwestern Africa, this stable democracy offers streamlined processes for legitimate travelers while maintaining security standards.
