Malaysia offers diverse visa categories designed for different travel purposes, each with specific requirements and validity periods. Understanding the distinctions between visa types ensures you select the appropriate option for your journey.
Tourist and Visitor Visas
Single Entry Tourist Visa allows stays up to 30 days and is typically valid for three months from the date of issuance, allowing one entry during that period. Multiple Entry Tourist Visa permits multiple visits within a validity period ranging from three to twelve months from the date of issue. As part of Malaysia's visa liberalization plan through December 31, 2026, multiple entry visas have extended validity periods up to six months. For Indian and Chinese citizens, the Multiple Entry Visa is valid for one year with each entry limited to 30 days, and extensions of stay are not allowed.

Long-Term and Special Category Passes
Transit Visa is issued to visitors traveling to other countries through Malaysia who leave the airport, allowing stays up to 120 hours if transiting through Kuala Lumpur Airport. Diplomatic and Official Visas serve government representatives. Long-Term Social Visit Pass serves family stays, education, and dependents. Malaysia My Second Home offers 10-year renewable multiple-entry visas with different tiers based on fixed deposit requirements, while the Premium Visa Program provides 20-year programs for high-net-worth applicants.
